Many people came out Saturday for an event called "Celebrating Red Hook."
Neighborhood artists, photographers, food vendors, dancers and others took part in the special day. Businesses and restaurants also set up booths to reach out to the community.
Local singers and bands performed on the waterfront at Erie Basin Park. The free event was sponsored by Fairway, Ikea and the Red Hook Star Revue.
Ikea also planned a firework display at the end of the night in honor of the neighborhood.
