A ceremony was held at Eisenhower Park Monday night to mark one year since the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel.
Elected officials from both sides of the aisle spoke, as well as a veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces and one survivor of the attack.
The event honored the 1,200 people who were killed and the hostages who remain in captivity.
“This should not happen anywhere in the world. No matter who it is. You don’t murder people,” said Barbara Greene, of Plainview.
An estimated 10,000 people attended.
