Child rescued from Brooklyn house fire; 67-year-old woman killed

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire in a Brooklyn home that led to the death of a 67-year-old woman.

Authorities say firefighters responded to the East 92nd Street home around 2:04 a.m., where they found the woman and an 8-year-old girl suffering from smoke inhalation.

The pair were treated on the scene and transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where the older woman was pronounced deceased.

Her identity has not been released, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
