A Bronx child who was taken to the hospital with possible Ebola symptoms does not have the virus, preliminary tests reveal, but he is not completely cleared just yet. 

According to the city's Department of Health and Hospitals Corporation, the 5-year-old boy will need to test negative several more times before he can be released from isolation at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. 

The child's mother had called 911 Sunday night after she took her son's temperature and said he had a fever. The family had returned from West Africa on Saturday. 

The boy had not been back to his Bronx school, P.S. 195, since returning to the U.S. Parents are reminded that there is no need to worry as there is no health risk to any students. 

The 5-year-old is being cared for at the same hospital that is treating Dr. Craig Spencer, the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in New York City.

Ebola is not an airborne virus. It can only be transmitted through the bodily fluids of a person who is infected and showing symptoms.
