Members of East Brooklyn congregations met with city officials Sunday to voice their concerns about garbage, lighting and other issues in the area.
NYPD and city officials joined over 1,500 East Brooklyn congregation leaders to publicly commit to safer intersections, neighborhoods, cleaner streets and renovated parks.
"Some of the issues that have been brought up in some of the meetings were about sanitation, some issues were dealing with crime. We recognize that we all face the same problem and we know that if we come together, we see the same things. We know that if we come together we can empower one another,” says Aaron Corbin, leader of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.
