Just over a year after their church burned down, members of a Brooklyn congregation are thankful to have a new home.
Members of the Byways and Hedges Church are worshipping in their newly renovated space for the first time on Sunday.
On Aug. 5, 2014, a fire tore through the second floor of the Utica Avenue church, forcing members to worship in a tent on the streets and then finding a temporary home at a school.
The church is now located on East 53rd Street.
The reverend of the church calls the new location a miracle. He says the space was offered to him by a friend who was using it as a church, but then moved.
