The New York City Office of Emergency Management met with several other city agencies Monday to discuss planning for potential coastal storms.
Mayor Bill de Blasio attended, along with Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina. The meeting's goal was to brainstorm how the agencies can help each other in the event of a storm.
City agencies say communication and teamwork are essential to handling any serious coastal storms.
The mayor says preparation is a necessity, as New York City is one of the largest coastal cities.
