As travelers in the Bronx and the rest of the city prepare to head out for the Fourth of July, officials are asking them to stay alert. In the wake of last week's attempted attacks in London, Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I-NYC) and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly are asking residents to be patient. They warn there will be check points set up across the city to watch for potential terrorists and drunk drivers. The check points, they say, will also be used to bust fireworks traffickers. The mayor stressed that transporting, buying, selling or using fireworks is illegal. He says those caught with fireworks could have their car seized or be arrested.
