Catholic school teachers across the city could be going on strike Friday if a new contract agreement isn't reached.
The Federation of Catholic Teachers, which represents about 2,600 educators, says teachers have been working without a contract since last year.
The union is now filing unfair labor practice charges against the Archdiocese Association of Catholic Schools.
The archdiocese released a statement in response to the strike threats saying in part, "We fail to see how a strike would help lead to a settlement, and believe such actions will only disrupt children's education."
