City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is calling for a bill that would bring wages for millions of New Yorkers closer to a "living wage."
Quinn announced a bill today that would increase the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10 plus benefits or $11.50 without benefits for employees of companies directly receiving subsidies.
The bill still needs to be approved by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
