, the Department of Homeless Services says it is enforcing new guidelines which include an earlier curfew of 10 p.m. instead of 11. Other new shelter rules will include entertaining in a special visitor's room, actively pursuing employment options and working to obtain permanent housing.
Some homeless residents say the new rules are too restricting, while others say they are just happy to have a roof over their head. DHS says if a family doesn't comply with its rules their shelter stay would only be discontinued in the most extreme situations.
