Residents in City Island are celebrating the arrival of 24-hour bus service in the neighborhood.
The push for the Bx29 bus route to run 24/7 began in 2015 when a woman was hit by a car on her way to work on the City Island Bridge. Residents say it is a win for safety, convenience and the community.
The change is part of the Bronx Bus Redesign that launched last month, meant to increase all-day service, streamline routes and create new connections to enhance bus service in the borough.
