City officials today announced the creation of a new applied-sciences campus in Downtown Brooklyn that could help secure a top spot in the technology world.
Officials say that a worldwide coalition led by the Polytechnic Institute of New York University will bring the new technology to Jay Street.
The building will be called the Center for Urban Science and Progress.
Officials project that the research and technologies developed at the center will generate $5.5 billion and create almost 8,000 jobs over the next three decades.
