The city has opened two warming centers in Brooklyn to help residents deal with the below-freezing temperatures.The centers are located in Canarsie and Bushwick. Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NYC) says for the first time the centers were opened in neighborhoods based on complaints to 311. Workers at the Canarsie center urge all residents to recognize their limitations during the cold months.
