The city is helping young adults springboard into the field of science by providing summer internship programs with companies in Brooklyn.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation's new Life-Sci NYC internship program is offering hands-on industry experience for undergraduate and graduate students.
It's just one component of the $500 million initiative to support life sciences and growth of the sector in the five boroughs of the city.
Greenwood-based company Cresilon Inc. is changing the way medical professionals stop patients from bleeding with revolutionary plant based gels that close wounds.
Interns have been working at their facility to gain the experience they need to get out into the job force.
