Roller-skate dancers across our borough have been looking for a home for a while - and now they say, they have one.
Xanadu Roller Arts officially opened on Starr Street in Bushwick. There are regular events, including live music, performances, workshops to learn how to skate and of course, open skating.
On the grand opening, new roller-dancing generations joined with the old and celebrated that they have a place to be together.
"Now we got one in our hood, and if you walk around tonight, you'll see it was needed," said DJ Big Bob.
"I hope we introduce millions of new people to the joy of roller-skating. It's good for the individual, but it's good for society," said Xanadu Roller Arts founder Vanrun Kataria.
