Citymeals on Wheels adds breakfasts to help feed more elderly New Yorkers

For over 40 years, Citymeals on Wheels has been delivering food to some of New York's most vulnerable for free.
It packs fresh produce, frozen meals and pantry staples daily at its distribution center in Hunts Point to deliver over 22,000 homebound elderly across the city.
The organization says people get one meal a day, but some are getting a little extra after a recent study.
"Our research found that 60% of those we surveyed were surviving on the one meal a day, so we knew it wasn't enough. So we chose breakfast as an additional meal to feed those folks most in need." said Rachel Sherrow, chief operating officer for Citymeals on Wheels.
Citymeals on Wheels say this new breakfast box will help 1,300 vulnerable New Yorkers.
