Civic group to form alliance between 3 neighborhoods to unite communities

A new civic group wants to form an alliance between three Brooklyn neighborhoods to bring their communities together.
Bath Beach, Bensonhurst and Gravesend have something new in common – they are all part of a new alliance started by two residents.
Steven Patzer and Ray Denaro, founders of the alliance, say they want to band the neighborhoods together to put them on the map.
The Bath Beach, Bensonhurst, and Gravesend Alliance aims to connect people for a common good, and is looking to perform acts of charity for people who have fallen on hard times - starting with food and toy drives.
It also wants to act as a platform for people to speak up about quality-of-life issues.
Both founders are politically active. Patzer announced his run to take Democrat Mark Treyger's 47th City Council district seat in 2021.
Denaro previously tried to unseat Treyger on Republican and Conservative lines in 2017. Both say this will be a bipartisan way to help others.
