A new Brooklyn art exhibit is encouraging those who view it to discuss justice-related issues, both locally and around the world.
Artist Bradley McCallum spent about eight months painting the portraits at the exhibit, which is called "Portraits of Justice." The paintings depict powerful men who were accused of crimes against humanity.
McCallum says the paintings represent the emotions felt by the accused men at their trials. He says the art is meant to challenge the viewer to consider the impact the men had on their victims and society.
Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson and Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo were among the viewers.
The exhibit at Kinz + Tillou Fine Art ends next weekend, but McCallum will host a public conversation about his work and question-and-answer session this Sunday. After the exhibit ends in Brooklyn, it will travel to Asia and Europe.
