A coastal flood advisory is in effect in the borough, including Sheepshead Bay and Manhattan Beach.
While the water has started to recede off the roadways, it is still high in the bay.
Police, fire officials and the Office of Emergency Management say they are working with local officials to monitor water levels.
The next high tide is tonight, and crews are expected to be keeping a close eye on the water levels throughout the day.
