Small mom-and-pop coffee houses will see a bit more competition on Monday as the chain Tim Horton's plans to open two new shops in Brooklyn.
Employees are working at one of the new stores on Fulton Street trying to get the shop ready for business. A spokesperson says the Canadian company believes the stores will do well despite the hard economic times.
"I think we find that people aren't willing to give up their coffee yet. That's one purchase in the morning that they want to have, that they need to have," says Anne Pritz, the company's marketing manager.
