Temperatures are very cold to finish the week, and it will feel even colder with a strong wind. We're tracking a few snow showers for the weekend.
It's been our coldest December in years, and we'll finish off this week with yet another plunge of Arctic air. Yesterday was the first day with near average temperatures this month, with a high of 47°F, which is still slightly below the climatological normal.
Today will feel significantly colder. Temperatures will remain in the low-30s, with winds picking up in the afternoon dropping wind-chill values down into the 20s during the day and teens overnight.
Friday will be colder in the morning, with temperatures in the mid-20s and wind chills in the teens. Afternoon highs will only be in the low-30s. Breezy conditions are expected to make it feel like the 20s most of the day.
Saturday is the pick of the weekend. The wind will be light, but temperatures are still cold with highs in the upper 30s. Some sunshine is expected early with clouds increasing later in the day.
Snow showers are likely on Sunday morning. 1 inch of snow is possible, with the best chance farther south. This would be the first measurable snowfall of the season for the city, but the air is very dry so there is still some uncertainty about this forecast.
