Police say an Ithaca College student from Brooklyn was fatally stabbed on Cornell University campus.
Anthony Nazaire, 19, a sophomore at Ithaca College and a Brooklyn native, was stabbed after a student-organized event in Willard Straight Hall Saturday night. Police say several fights took place outside after the event ended. Nazaire and another student were stabbed.
Kiara Nazaire, Anthony's sister, says she was told by police that the incident began when her brother's friend bumped into someone. "That's how it escalated, he bumped a girl by accident trying to excuse himself out of the way," she says.
Police say the other student who was stabbed survived.
Nazaire was a resident of Flatbush and graduated from Brooklyn Theatre Arts High School.
"He was a kid with a dream, and I can't believe how a young man with a dream like that just disappears after one second," says Nazaire's godfather, Jacques Dorsainvil.
Police say no arrests have been made, and they are still searching for the suspects.
