Community members flooded Eastern Parkway on Saturday to help change the outcome to one of the apartment buildings on their block.
Dozens rallied in support of four Black seniors as their housing status is up in the air. Back in July, Renaissance Realty serve the four tenants paperwork saying they'd be evicted due to demolition with a 20-day notice for eviction.
Since then, these tenants asked the Division of Housing and Community Renewal for a 60-day extension so they can develop a plan.
"I would like to say here. I would like to make this my home until I decide I want to go. I don't want to make them make the decision for me," said tenant Jean Thompson.
