Community members gathered in Bedford-Stuyvesant Sunday to honor a man who was killed over Labor Day weekend.
David Dottin. 49, was fatally shot in front of 50 Herkimer Place in front of his two young sons on Sept. 3.
Dottin was a Department of Education school aide and originally from Barbados.
More than 100 community activists, friends, family and other members of the Bajan community came out to pay tribute to the man who police say was not the intended target of the shooting.
Detectives held up reward posters, and gatherers prayed before releasing white balloons into the sky.
Police say they do not have any suspects, and that the investigation is ongoing.
