A Brooklyn-based community is giving people who were previously incarcerated a second chance.
One Community says this can be seen as a difficult task.
Brooklyn resident Brian Rawlings says he never imagined his life would end up the way it did.
Rawlings was able to secure a job during the pandemic by connecting with One Community. He now works as a bike mechanic for Citi Bike, which noticed a spike in business during the pandemic.
Rawlings says before this, finding a job was difficult due to his past time in prison.
One Community says it is found that a lot of its placements work harder because they’re so grateful just to have a job.
