Plans for a controversial high-rise building in Carroll Gardens are getting some positive feedback. More than 100 neighbors got a look at what developer William Stein and his new design team, KSQ Architects, have envisioned for 360 Smith St. The latest draft comes after architect Robert Scarano was dropped from the project due to building violations and zoning disputes. City Councilman Bill de Blasio says his constituents are generally pleased with the latest design and designers. "We started at a place where basically no one was satisfied. It was too high. It was very, very modern. Very out of context with an architect no one trusted,? says de Blasio. Many neighbors say they are supportive of the project's new brownstone-inspired look.
