Complaints against the New York City Police Department are up in some areas and down in others, according to the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB).
The latest CCRB report shows the number of complaints against police officers increased in southern Brooklyn this March. But, the number of complaints from northern Brooklyn decreased. The total number of complaints over the past three months remained the same as last year.
The review board gets police misconduct complaints that include improper force, offensive language and abuse of authority. Citywide there was a jump in the number of police brutality complaints this year.
