Con Edison and union leaders are still trying to negotiate a deal, despite word that the company reinstated health insurance for workers over the weekend.
There have been no major outages in the city since the lockout occurred more than two weeks ago, but the hot temperatures could put a strain on the 5,000 managers who have been keeping the electricity going.
Local Con Ed workers say they will picket around the clock at McDonald Avenue and Bay Parkway until a fair contract is reached.
