Nearly three years after Superstorm Sandy, Coney Island Cathedral is finally getting the repairs it deserves.
The Samaritan's Purse charity is donating $260,000 to the church for renovations.
That money will be used to fix walls, repair the roof, replace wiring and restore everything destroyed by the storm.
The church wasn't eligible for financial help from FEMA. But despite the devastation to the building, church services have continued.
Officials say the repairs should be completed by the end of September.
