A help center is open in Coney Island to help Medicare patients navigate the prescription drug program.
The center is located in the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island and is one of 40 across the city. Help center client Esther Levine says she is glad it?s there. Levine has had trouble choosing between the 47 Medicare plans and says Medicare Part D facilitators at the center have helped her narrow the choices.
The center says it has been so successful that it has gotten calls from as far away as California asking for guidance.
