You may still be wearing your winter coat, but in Coney Island, the spring season kicks off this weekend.
Construction workers are sprucing up the boardwalk, the countdown clock at Nathan's is ticking and rides are being tested at Luna Park for the first wave of parkgoers when it opens on Sunday.
Fans of the Cyclone will want to arrive early. It now costs $9 to ride, but the first 100 people in line before noon on opening day will get to hop on for free.
Coney Island USA is also preparing for its spring comeback. The nonprofit arts organization, which has a museum and side attractions, will host a spring gala on Saturday night.
