Officials are investigating after confidential NYPD files were found this afternoon in a Dumpster outside The Bronx's 40th Precinct. News 12 The Bronx came across mug shots, stolen property reports, criminal complaints and a domestic violence file. Police say one of the building's radiators broke last month, flooding the precinct's basement. They say workers were supposed to install new pipes and may have thrown the documents into the garbage. Once learning of the incident, officials say they took the information from the Dumpster and secured it inside. However, some residents say they are disturbed by the findings. "It shows they don't have any respect for the people they arrest in the community," one neighbor says.
