The Department of Transportation will launch an experimental congestion parking program on Kings Highway this fall that will raise parking meter prices from 75 cents an hour to as high as $2.50 an hour.
The city wants to alleviate crowding on Kings Highway and encourage drivers to either park elsewhere or park for a shorter amount of time. Officials also say it will free up more spaces.
Officials haven't decided which blocks the plan will apply to.
