Congregants at the Grace Tabernacle Christian Center gathered for Sunday morning services for the first time since the death of the Rev. Timothy Wright.
Parishioners say the services were especially meaningful as they honored the memory of Wright and his accomplishments. Wright had been absent from his place at the podium since he was critically injured in a car accident last July.
"This church will never, never be the same but his mission must go on," Nora Diggins, a congregant, says.
Wright's replacement at Grace Tabernacle Church has yet to be decided. A public viewing will be held next Saturday and Sunday at Grace Tabernacle Church. A special musical celebration at the Pleasant Grove Tabernacle will be held to honor Wright and his Grammy nominations May 3. His funeral will be held Monday, May 4 at 10 a.m.
