Connecticut surpasses highest state gas price record since 2008
Connecticut surpassed its highest recorded state gas average today when self-serve, regular prices hit the $4.415 a gallon mark, AAA Northeast says.

Connecticut surpassed its highest recorded state gas average today when self-serve, regular prices hit the $4.415 a gallon mark, AAA Northeast says.
The previous all-time state record occurred on July 9, 2008, at $4.39.
In just one day, today’s statewide average increased 6 cents since yesterday.
Today’s national average is $4.25, 8 cents higher than yesterday.

The national average first eclipsed the previous record price of $4.11 when prices hit $4.17 on March 9. The previous record occurred on July 17, 2008.
“As long as crude prices continue to surge, drivers can expect the current trend of higher pump prices to continue” Fran Mayko, AAA Northeast spokeswoman says. “At this point, the most effective actions drivers can take to pinch their gas pennies are to reduce their speeds, inflate their tires and keep their vehicles properly maintained.”
