Coquito is a wildly popular Christmas drink with a Latino twist, but just don't call it eggnog.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is looking for the person who can make the best drink in the borough. So, he co-hosted a cocktail contest with the International Coquito Federation to do just that.
The borough's first-ever coquito competition was held at Borough Hall.
Coquito champion Mauricio Pereila says the drink brings families together with its appeal and can be made without alcohol for kids to enjoy.
Coquito is typically made with cinnamon, nutmeg, rum and a variety of secret ingredients, so not all mixes are the same.
