Three men convicted in a 1980 deadly arson case have had their convictions overturned.

Amaury Villalobos, William Vasquez and Raymond Mora were convicted on arson and felony murder for a 1980 fire at a Park Slope house. A family of six died in the fire.

Villalobos and Vasquez were released from prison in 2012 after spending nearly 33 years behind bars for a crime Kings County District Attorney Ken Thompson says they did not commit. Mora died in prison, but his family represented him before the judge.

Thompson says the three men were convicted based on circumstantial evidence, outdated science and testimony from the building's owner whose story continually changed throughout the investigation.
