Police have confirmed that a woman was accidentally shot during a Flatbush narcotics raid. Police say they barged into a third-floor apartment at 3003 Clarendon Road, where they were met by a suspect trying to escape. Authorities say an officer accidentally fired his gun during the struggle, and that the bullet grazed a 25-year-old woman on the floor below. The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital and is in stable condition. Authorities apprehended two suspects in the raid.
City Councilman Jumaane Williams (D-45th District) made an appearance at the scene, but said he would not comment until more information becomes available. The officer involved in the shooting was not injured.
