Police are on the hunt for a hammer-wielding man who they say is responsible for two sexual assaults in Brooklyn on Monday.
According to cops, the suspect used a hammer to threaten and rape an 18-year-old as she walked from the Quincy Street and Broadway train station in Bushwick. They say it happened in a back alley just after midnight.
Police say that the same man again used a hammer an hour later to assault a 22-year-old woman as she entered her apartment building. They say the second victim was able to fight off her attacker.
Authorities have released two sketches and surveillance video of the suspect, who is described as a black man with light complexion, in his early 20s and about 150 pounds. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
