Police are investigating whether a Fort Greene teen was the victim of a stray bullet or foolish gunplay with friends.
An Ingersoll Houses tenant tells News 12 Brooklyn she heard loud music followed by two loud bangs at a nearby apartment. She says a 14-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his stomach later came to her door for help. The teen told the woman he was injured by a stray bullet while walking on Park Avenue. However, the neighbor believes the teen may have been playing with a gun with friends when he was accidentally shot.
Police say the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
