Police and K-9 units were on the scene Thursday of an officer-involved shooting at the Pink Houses in East New York.
Authorities say cops shot Richard Davenport in his side after he shot at them with a .45-caliber semiautomatic. Davenport was taken to Brookdale Hospital. Investigators found a bullet-riddled vehicle blocks away from the scene. They say a bullet found in Davenport?s coat matches bullets from the car.
Pink Houses tenants say they are tired of the constant barrage of bullets near the housing project. While some tenants support the NYPD, others say cops are part of the problem and they consider the NYPD New York?s biggest gang.
