The Covenant Ballet Theatre celebrated its 35th season with students performing excerpts of the "The Nutcracker" at Sheepshead Bay library Saturday afternoon.
The dancers, ranging in age from 10 to 15 years old, were excited to dance in-person with their team again to put on the theater's version of "The Nutcracker," "Window Wonderland."
Founder and artistic director Marla Hirokawa said she looks forward to the show every year.
"It's just so wonderful. The kids are so hungry to be performing, so it's really great," Hirokawa said.
The annual performance provides a modern twist of "Nutcraker" classics and gives students a stage to showcase what they've been working on all year.
"This performance was the greatest one that I had so far in my life," said dancer Hannah Bolski.
Audiences said the performance was beautiful and really got them into the holiday spirit.
