A Crawford man was killed Monday while cutting down a tree on his property, according to state police.

Authorities say the accident happened just before 4 p.m. near Collabar Road.

They say the person was unable to get away in time when the tree fell on top of him.

The name of the victim is not being disclosed by police, at the family's request.
