A fire broke out Saturday afternoon inside of an apartment on Bushwick Avenue and spread to neighboring apartments.

Firefighters say they arrived on scene and were able to quickly put the fire out without any serious injuries.

But the fire comes in the middle of the holiday season and just days before Christmas. Neighbors say it's a bad situation for a tight knit community.

Fire officials say the fire has been put out.

The cause is unclear.
