City crews were out this morning cutting back a tree in Olinville, just a day after neighbors complained to News 12 The Bronx about it. Residents had complained that low-hanging branches on the tree at 213th Street and Willet Avenue posed a safety hazard. They said that the branches were hanging dangerously over the sidewalk and part of the street for years, despite several calls to the city's 311 help line. News 12 The Bronx alerted the city's Parks Department and less than 24 hours later, workers chopped down parts of the tree. Neighbors say they are glad it was addressed before someone was seriously hurt.
