Crews are working around the clock to repair a massive sinkhole in Bay Ridge that nearly swallowed a car Wednesday night.
More than a dozen workers remained on the scene throughout the night, but say it's likely to take days to repair the gaping hole at 449 79th St. They are busy digging out debris to reach a 4-foot sewer pipe, which they believe is allowing the ground to move into it.
According to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the hole is about 20 feet deep and stretches almost the entire width of the street.
