Residents at Twin Parks West apartment complex in Fordham say their elevators haven’t been working for days.
They say the issue were making it difficult for many seniors to get to appointments. They say that it is not only an inconvenience but that it’s putting a burden on them by affecting their daily activities.
Residents say the elevators haven’t been working since last Thursday. They say they’ve had issues before, but never for this long.
They say of the four elevators in the complex, two are sometimes working on the Ford Street side of the building--where elevators go to the seventh floor and then they can walk across and up to their apartments at 365 East 183rd Street.
However, this isn’t an option for everyone. Residents say they want the elevators fixed and want management to be more transparent about what’s going on in the building.
Shortly after News 12 crews were on scene, residents informed News 12 that elevator service was restored.
