Manhattan Beach residents are seeking help for what they are calling the excessive crowding and traffic on the weekends.
Residents say roads become gridlocked with traffic, allowing no room for emergency vehicles or public transportation. Residents add that there is not enough room for parking after weekend crowds fill the lots.
The Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Association says it has looked to several city agencies to relieve the overcrowding. The Parks Department claims Manhattan Beach's largest crowd was 20,000 people, but that it can comfortably fit 35,000.
Residents also complain of visitors blocking driveways and traveling in the wrong direction on one-way streets.
