Crown Heights family pleads for information in hit-and-run
A Crown Heights family is desperately searching for leads after one of their own was involved in a motorcycle crash in East New York last month.
The incident occurred April 3 around 8 p.m, when police say 49-year-old Calvin Dash was riding his motorcycle. His brother says he heard that Dash tried to get around a car that was turning when another car hit and and ran him over.
The driver then took off.
Dash is currently in a rehabilitation center for serious injuries to his legs. His brother fears one of his legs will never fully recover.
Family members say Dash is an experienced motorcyclist, riding since he was a teen. Now they're hoping the person responsible will come forward.
"If anyone who has any information or knows anything that can help us with this case, please help my family, I beg you," says Drexel Dash, Calvin's brother. "If it was your family, you would want that, so please if you could ... if you know anything, you saw anything, please come forward and help my family with getting some closure."
